A Permanent Home for a Growing Mission

Three years ago, Hill City Church was planted in Farmington Hills with a simple mission:

Practicing the Way of Jesus together in our city.

Since launching on Easter Sunday 2023, we've watched God do more than we ever imagined. People have come to faith in Jesus, families have found community, students have been discipled, City Groups have multiplied, and our church has become a place where people are discovering what it means to be with Jesus, become like Jesus, and do what Jesus did.

Every Sunday, we've set up and torn down our church at the Costick Center. While we're incredibly grateful for the space God has provided, we've always known it was temporary.

Now, God has opened an unexpected door.

We have the opportunity to purchase the Ward Church Farmington Hills campus and establish a permanent home for Hill City.

The opportunity includes:


  • Nearly 14 acres in Farmington Hills

  • Approximately 22,000 square feet of building

  • A 300-seat worship center

  • Dedicated Kids Ministry classrooms

  • Student and multipurpose ministry spaces

  • Offices

  • Kitchen and gathering areas

  • More than 200 parking spaces

  • Opportunity to expand the building

Even more exciting than the building itself is the opportunity it provides to serve our city every day of the week, not just on Sundays.

To make this opportunity possible, we've launched a capital campaign called A Home for Hill City.

We're inviting every person and every family to prayerfully ask: 

"Lord, what are You inviting me to give?"

Every gift, large or small, is an opportunity to invest in what God is doing through Hill City.

  • Make a financial commitment that can be paid over the coming months

We'll celebrate our official Commitment Sunday on August 23, 2026, as we dedicate our commitments and this journey to the Lord together.

1. Foundation Goal - $2,150,000 - To purchase the building and establish a permanent home for Hill City.

2. Renovation Goal - $400,000 - To make the initial improvements needed to prepare the building for ministry and create welcoming spaces for our church and community.

3. Stewardship Goal - Any gifts beyond these goals will help us faithfully care for the property, reduce future debt, and prepare this facility for ministry for years to come.

Our desire is to purchase the property through a clean transaction by paying for the building in full. At the same time, we're wisely pursuing financing options that would allow us to move forward while continuing to raise funds.

July 26 • Announcement made to Hill City + Ward Farmington Hills Congregations

August 2 • Prayer Walk at Ward Farmington Hills • 4:00 PM

August 9 • Pastor Rick & Elders participate in a Town Hall Meeting with Ward FH.

August 16 • Ward Northville + Farmington Hills vote on the building sale

August 23 • Commitment Sunday

September • If approved, keys of the building transfer to Hill City

September/October • Building preparation, including any necessary cleaning & updates

October • First Hill City worship service in our new home

End of Year • Complete the purchase of the building (or sooner, if God provides the full funding)


This campaign has never been about a building. It's about creating a place where people can encounter Jesus and experience life with Him.

A place where kids discover God's love. Where students are formed into lifelong disciples. Where marriages are strengthened, burdens are shared, and hope is found. A place where neighbors are welcomed, community is built, and generations come to know and follow Jesus.

Together, we're not simply purchasing a building. We're stewarding a place where God can continue to change lives for years to come.
